The Minister, Hon. Desmond McKenzie, is fully aware of the important role that our women play in the disaster management and response process. It is against this view that Minister McKenzie is making sure that the 7th Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas and the Caribbean (RP20) provides a space for women to express their position and experiences in building resilient communities (countries). Is an effort to ensure this objective is achieved the Minister today met with Ms. Alma Perez, Policy Advisor, Peace and Security at UN Women’s Office and her team to have further discussions and seek commitment in partnership on the matter.
